Went to Bar None on Fri. what a weird nite. Firstly, a lot of pple from the office were there like it's our own D&D, only more happening. The new swiss-thai guy was there with some gals from few other teams, which made me wonder did his papasan abandon him.. RL came along with this gal HN whom i met for the 1st time.. darned if she's gossipy... wanted to know who i knew the swiss-thai guy, when LW and RL were talking in each other's ears, she demanded to know what they are talking about.
Got the most juicy tidbit from her. and from her expression (all bright-eyed), she was so happy to be the one telling us.. but must admit is a juicy gossip rdg a love triangle in the office.. haiyoh! another scandal...And no, not that i really went to LCK fish farm, but that time, the bar really felt like that.. kenna almost picked up by an jap guy whom LW kept saying "yucks!" when she saw him. shorter, older and generally i agree, digusting..
followed us onto the dance floor, i was so sure he was after LW, but she kept herself busy on the hp, and he talked to me... "YUCKS!!"
Then there were these 2 foreign guys trying to pick up gals from the floor. so blatent! one white and one who probably thinks he looks like Ronaldo.. White got a gal very easily and for a moment, looks like Ronaldo wants to share.. but White whisked her off and left to to fish alone. and fish he did.. unsuccessfully.. trying to dance close to some gals, to us, but we must have looked too atas.. by the time we left, he was still fishing...
Haha, was an experience. most of the time, i didnt dare to let my eyes linger on anyone, save i invite some unwarranted attention.. just dont know how to handle..
Aside from the lechers, must say we enjoy ourselves...
Arguing the Semantics
Colleague threw me off today. she's done that a couple of times before, but was okay but this time, a bit bua tahan.
Was trying to arrange a game of mj this sat. On mon, she said to count her in and she doesnt mind playing if we lack 1 kar.. then today, i told we confim, and she asks when, where which i told her. So I thought all was well, until she told me dont confirm her cos not sure if she can get the car, and the location is v far for her.. so i just mentioned i confirmed her liao, and she said she never said she can confirm..
Wah lau, does it make sense? How to make sense of someone who says count her in, but dont confirmed? But chop and stamp, hook little finger, is it? I'm not so inflexible that she cannot pull out, but she cannot say she never said don't include her. As colls, i dont want to argue the semantics with her.
But. How will we know for sure when someone is saying what they mean? Can't they just say Oops, sorry?
If I can unwind the clock
8 yrs ago - Taken up dancing seriously, so that i'm gd enough to perform or coach. Realised that this is only the one thing consistent that i like to do.. now, frens of similar interest said my current age is a problem to pursue this, and i'll need to work very very hard.. meanwhile, still need a stable income to support my family..
6 mths ago - Would have been more relaxed at his place with him, not so nervous, not so guarded. Less awkard for both of us.. Given a chance now, i'll be more myself. Wacky, flirty, teasy and i hope irresistable..
1 & a half mths ago - same as above. and would have more likely join them at attica too.. even if i didnt, when he asked me the next day, i should tell him i like to go out with smaller group of people whom i know better, then take the opp. to arrange something just for the few of us.. most of them, before i left that night, i should have stopped to say my goodbyes, rather than just disappear.. it seemed rude otherwise. who knows, he may have successfully convinced me to join them there, and keep me company whole nite to keep me comfortable.. cos he sure had been doing something like that that whole nite..
chances missed.. and seriously now, i think we are so over... should i revive it and see where it goes? whilst passing thru my desk, he paused and talked to me yday.. again, i felt the attraction when i thought it was dead since so long he's done nothing.. he said he's been busy, so i jokingly replied 'yah, so busy no time to stop by talk to me." he went 'yah yah'.. caught up with each other awhile, he about his holiday home snowboarding on 2 mountains (he used to teach young children), while i talked abt my CNY..
guess my brain is always a bit slow when it comes to this. before i could think of changing the topic to maybe asking him out, someone came along and hustled him along.. sigh.. and this morning he came into the pantry when i was there reading papers.. he said hi, i said hi back. my mind went blank.. lost chance.. if i'm more streetsmart, would have turn to the movies page, make some conversation about seeing a movie, then from there 'yaddle yaddle yaddle'..
more over he's moving over to another team soon, same floor but on the other side.. so next mth onwards, i wont see him across the room nor at the pantry, nor at the copier.. sigh!!!! life here wont be as interesting anymore...just 'urgh!' at myself sometimes... just slap me!!!

Garuda Flight leaving for Jakarta
Another dream.. Was at the ariport. Garuda flight, leaving for Jakarta, Gateway3.. Almost missed the flight cos was with another friend shopping at DFS, thought had plenty of time.. then alamak! announcement over the intercom, a woman said my name and IC very loudly and "Last call, pls process to Belt 3."Ran and ran with my backpack, cos then was only at 3o-something belt. jialat, i thought to myself, how to make it, cos it's the exact departure time liao.. wanted to ask a airport staff to help contact garuda staff to wait for me, but no time to stop... but one of them said by bus, it'll take 5mins!!! didnt know changi airport so big!!unfortunately, woke up before knowing whether i made the flight...
1st 7 Days of CNY
Got facai a bit from my parents' angbao. papa, as usual, was quite generous as he can get.
Eve, we had steamboat as our customs. chu-yi was at home didnt get out much. chu-er to si, went to grandma's place hehe. told my uncle couple of times to wait for me to get there before setting off the fireworks. better than spending it in sgp. 80% of my relatives are spread around in m'cca, so obviously, angbao lugi a bit lah..
the 4 days there were totally hot and boring though in the day. nothing much to do, bought a book there but finished it in 2days. my youngest uncles had a number of dvds, so we sat and watched a few...
oh, but the fireworks at night!! my uncle must have spent hundreds of $$ on them. said he bribed the police so that he could let them go for the fist 2 days... when the neighbours set off some, he would compete and blew off ours... haha!!! better than having to travel to esplanade or chinatown to catch it... dont have to brave the crowd and rub shoulders with strangers..
on our last night there was best!! a neighbour about 1 km away was blowing off all night.. every time i thought they have finished, i would go back into the house, only to come out again hearing the 'boom boom' noises... went on for 1 hr!! my mum dragged out a chair to house's driveway to sit and watch. we speculated could be he is the illegal importer of the fireworks, and just using all his unsolds...
sigh, was quite great leh. just thought maybe next yr, i'll go in with moo.. so that can share with him.. going with my mum not as fun, cos she still talks to all other relatives like i'm some kid who doesnt know everything, even when i'm there.. and a couple of them was kind of pitying me, for not being married, and rather moo was making me wait..
but hello, told them i wanted to wait and have more fun before settling down.. and being single is not a FAILURe!!
hrumph! naf, should not let them spoil my thoughts...
